When we played the Nashville Dave Ramsey Live event a few weeks ago (As Furious George) we really knocked it out of the park. It could not have gone better as far as our playing and getting the crowd engaged. Tim (our killer percussionists) and I have been asked to go to the rest of the spring Dave Ramsey events! We are going to go to Kansas City this weekend and hopefully we will be able to go to Portland and Colorado Springs over the next couple months as well. Really, my whole goal is make Tim start laughing so hard that he physically can’t continue the song, well, that’s one of the goals anyway. The other is to put on a crazy fun show that can get people excited and energized to go in to the event.

One of the really cool things about this is that we are going as A Faster Horse. Frances and Jeremy aren’t able to go unfortunately so this will be a 2 man version of the band. I am taking my acoustic guitar and Tim is talking a pretty awesome drum concoction we have been working with. It looks like this photo here. We are going to be incorporating some really fun songs and I think we have tapped into an energy and joy that I want this band to embrace.

I have written a lot of songs over the years and when I listen back to them, they just sound so dark. One of the reviews of Chett, the band I was in at the time said, “Chett has amassed a large following…despite the lyrics being so depressing.”  Those lyrics were all me. I loved that darkness, because I was in some serious darkness. Over the last 3 years my mind has finally been getting some clarity and the new songs are showing that. I want this band to be full of joy, to bring life to people and playing these events is an amazing opportunity to do that.

We will definitely keep you posted on how they go!
